When Al Pollack decided to enter the Niagara College
entrepreneurship program, it was to finally make a
change and improve his life. A successful small
businessman, he enjoys the challenge of making and
growing his business, All Small Engines. He enjoys
repairing everything from snowmobiles to lawnmowers. Al
helps people continue to use their mechanical
investments both in play and to maintain their homes.
“The best part of my day,” says Al, “is the face to face
communication with my customers.” He learned in his
marketing classes that making a great first impression
is critical to long term customer relationships. “I
didn’t feel comfortable with my smile, it’s the first
thing people look at.” Al consulted Dr. Tom Pekar and
his team of smile enhancers. “We were able to recreate
Al’s smile from a photograph. Al’s unique anatomy called
for a special support that would be provided by mini
implants.” Implants act as root anchors for missing
teeth and invite bone to grow into the threads. The
implants become firmly integrated into the bone over
time. “I feel good about myself and my teeth look
bright and even,” says Al. Friends and family have also
noticed a difference in his appearance and attitude.
“I’m a people person to start with, in general my
confidence has increased a lot, I’m happy with my new
teeth and new look.” Dr. Pekar explains that in the
past, Implant Surgery has meant lengthy surgery and
uncomfortable recovery. Mini Implants have changed all
that and given people the opportunity to transform not
only their appearance, but their whole outlook on life.
As for the treatment, Al says “it was not painful at
all, it’s hard to believe that implant surgery could be
that simple, not even a single stitch. I went home and
had supper with my wife Janet.”
