Two years ago, you could tell Bill a really funny joke and he would try not to laugh. It wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate the humor, but he was trying not to smile and show his teeth. He knew his front teeth did not look as good as they should, and he had worn caps and fillings. They gave his face an oddly drawn appearance around the mouth. He used to worry that a dislodged cap would make him miss a business meeting. Bill was facing a lot of changes in his life, needing to find a new job at this time and not feeling confident going into job interviews. His teeth would make him look older than he was. But now my teeth were beginning to show a lot of wear and tear.” When his increasing bite misalignment was affecting his whole mouth and would probably contribute to jaw problems in the future, Bill knew he had to make a decision about his teeth. “I didn’t go into it lightly. We talked about options for about six years, about dentures and implants, but implants are really expensive. One of the biggest struggles was convincing myself I should spend the money on me, but at the end of the day I said let’s take a run at it, and I went for reconstruction..” Four well planned comfortable sessions later, Bill had a completely reconstructed mouth.
