Having almost put her foot in her mouth, Dorothy came
into our office to enquire about an alternative to
having leg bone (okay it was her hip not her foot)
grafted into her mouth to support her new teeth. Being
recently retired from the auto sales business Dorothy
and Frank had operated for many years on Merritt Street
in St. Catharines, a new life style awaited them in the
country. Along with this was a desire to improve their
health and wellness. For Dorothy that meant having a
fully functional and secure smile. Dorothy has always
been the positive force in her family and social circle,
facing adversity with unrelenting good spirits and a
great sense of humour. Health challenges over the past
few years have left her with some ups and some downs.
Medications had visible side effects – loss of weight,
which she happily met with a new wardrobe. But the bone
loss impaired her dental structure and jaw. Dorothy had
considered an implant secured smile awhile ago, but the
invasion of hip bone grafting procedure was vetoed by
her specialist. Now that things have stabilized it was
time to reconsider. Dorothy now speaks with confidence &
clarity in several languages, talks without fear of
embarrassment. We listened to Dorothy tell us she used
to be able to chew anything and not feel self-conscious
about her smile in public. We evaluated her new bone
strength, and determined mini implants would avoid the
need for hip bone graft. In one day Dorothy had a new
smile, stabilized top & bottom. Dorothy now speaks with
confidence & clarity in several languages, talks without
fear of embarrassment. Dorothy is quite proud to be able
to chew almost anything for the first time in years, and
is wondering what took her so long to decide to proceed.
The best design is the one Mother Nature gave us. The
best replacement will provide the greatest measure of
comfort, function and confidence you deserve.
